Student Scholarship

As part of our commitment to the ongoing growth and improvement of the profession and membership, ISM-CV works to foster a constant flow of new talent into the industry.

Each year at the ISM-CV Conference, we invite full-time college and university students currently enrolled in any business/supply chain program in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia to participate in our annual Supply Chain Case Competition (SC3). Winners of the competition receive scholarship funds to apply toward educational expenses.

A signature event of our Emerging Professional Group, the competition provides a platform for these student teams to showcase their talents and schools, and promotes regional workforce development and talent retention by helping cultivate the skills of tomorrow's emerging procurement and supply management leaders.

Teams are provided a real-life, industry-based case study and supplied with a case briefing, collaboration time, supporting materials and Q&A.

The student competitors display their talents to some of the industry's top firms, resolving real-world strategic and tactical challenges through the examination on topics such as logistics, network design, procurement, relationship management and sustainability.

A jury of professional peers selects the most outstanding work by evaluating case solution, teamwork, presentation and originality/critical thinking.

Generous contributions from private and corporate donors to the competition's scholarship fund allow students whose work is deemed the "best of the best" to win a $1,000 scholarship.  Please  email our office for details.
